tony...there's a great play by Shakespeare-Henry V. your story, like many of our stories reminds me of it...and what God calls us into. I'm grateful for your ability to share. And your bride is wise. Our wounds matter...and your willingness to share gives them even deeper meaning. We don't see it in the midst of the battle...but i love this speech at Agincourt on St Crispens.

This day is call'd the feast of Crispian:
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,

The English go on to win the battle-a true story and one of many we need to keep at hand in our journey. Praying those 5 minutes are an encouragement to the hearers as they return home and take part in what God is calling them to in the Kindgom.

I think it is a very telling graphic. I enjoy FB, but I limit the number of friends I have. I only "Friend" people I know. I do not "Friend" children (esp teenagers) or patients. I do post pictures of my children, but only a select group of close friends and family members. I love that I can get a glimpse into the lives of folks I know daily and from that perspective FB has been fantastic.

I would not say that FB is total transparency, but to me the real value is looking back over a month of FB posts and seeing what my mood and demeanor were. What was I talking about and focused on? It has been another mirror I can look into and admittedly....I have not always liked what I have seen. Sadly, I have seen myself focused on things and saying things that were not reflective of Christ. But, it has afforded me the opportunity to see it, know I did it, and address change in those areas. It has allowed me to see that what people really know about me is that I am an obsessed fisherman, but only a part-time fisher of men. It has further revealed to me where my mind is most of the time.

So, I love FB and how it keeps me connected, but I do not like what it reflects back to me about me. The truth can be painful, but we all need that kind of painful truth.
